Development Programmes

CAR residential laboratory offers dancers, performers, choreographers & interdisciplinary artists time and space to research & create performance & visual art works.

We welcome & facilitate your proposal to share up to 2 weeks of research/creation process.

CAR offers an intimate & focused research framework & artistic mentoring in which to create references, lines of action, autonomous resistances & collaborative discussions around dance practices & expanded choreography.

ReMo studio is located in a natural area in Amsterdam west, it combines regenerative agriculture, upcycling design investigation, visual & performing arts. We provide residence in our dance studio, full access to our textile/set design workshop. Residency also includes a room for one or two people, all home facilities & bikes to move around easily.

Modalities:

First modality (M1): one week of training & mentoring with the
facilitator to develop the piece. Full time access to dance studio and
textile atelier. Presentation at the end of the process.
Costs: €1000 per week for solo, €1600 per week for duos.

Second modality (M2): the artist works autonomously and independently,
full time access to dance studio.
Costs: €700 per week for solo. €1200 per week for duos.

*we can offer a discount on the fees if you want to learn & help out
in the sewing workshop; let’s have a chat!

The practice in the first modality will take the form of joint
training sessions with the artist & mentor using somatic practices,
movement & vocal research. Based on the artist(s) needs, we will
define lines of work; this can include: conceptual exploration,
improvisation, composition, costume experimentation & text.

The Residency is facilitated by Hobelasai:  choreographer & pedagoge,
he brings together textiles, movement, sound & language. He performs &
facilitates creative processes & workshops worldwide.

Remo Studio can provide letters of invitation for those who are
eligible for scholarships to cover the costs.
